Biodynamic & Organic Winemaker: Leo Mattiazzo

Leo Vanin winery is located in the area of Valdobbiadene known as “Il Settolo”. It lies on the Piave River, which flows to Venice. The winery is established in the heart of this area. It was built upon a small, rustic building, which has been owned by the Mattiazzo Family for over a century.

The winery is surrounded by grapevines, once owned by brothers Giovanni and Venanzio, who were among the first to plant in this area. Until the 80’s the wine produced was used for personal consumption. Leo, grandson of Giovanni established a modern winery by renovating the vineyards and restoring the house.

100% Estate owned and managed the family has six hectares of vineyards they tend to. Nowadays, Giovanni is assisted by his wife and their two daughters: Jessica and Mara.
