Valdeorras translates as the ‘Valley of Gold’. At Bodega Eladio Santalla, the vineyards are all dry grown. Godello and Mencia dominate the region. And both varieties make up the total production. Both are tank fermented to retain fresh vibrant varietal characteristics. A tiny amount of barrel aged Mencia is also available in small quantities.

Brothers Marcos & Eladio are boutique wine producers, creating focused, refined & well-balanced wines.

Cool conditions provide great acid and delicate flavours. The philosophy of Eladio Santalla in Valdeorras, is to make wines of high quality and low volume.

The brothers also run a restaurant in O Barco de Valdeorras, which serves truly delicious Octopus or as it’s known locally ‘El Pulpo’.
