Katrina Hill toured Europe tasting different styles of Pinot Gris sourced in various regions, from the full and fruity to minerally and “funky”. It was then she decided to search for a piece of land where she could grow her favourite style of wine.

Far Ago Hill was then established in 2003 at Canyonleigh, in the Southern Highlands of NSW. This locality is fast emerging as a premium cool climate wine-growing region. The vineyard is managed with organic practises and was planted with the intention to produce a wine equal in quality to that of the best Pinot Gris regions in Europe and beyond. The wine is typically macerated just enough on the skins to attract a light copper hue, which in turn adds a texture level that makes the wine so delicious.
